TCRIC Quarterly Report: July 2017

The Tuscaloosa County Road Improvement has received monthly deposits from tax revenue collections since September 2016, with a current cash-on-hand balance of approximately $3,000,000. The Commission does not anticipate the issuance of any bonds to the Commission in the third quarter of 2017 but will continue to pursue any and all available local, state, and federal funding mechanisms for priority project completion.

Monthly reimbursement payments of $200,000 to the City of Northport for the Mitt Lary Road improvements have continued, totaling $1,400,000 to date. Intersection improvements at US-82/McFarland and Bear Creek Cutoff Road previously funded by the Commission are now in active construction with an anticipated completion date of winter 2017. The City of Northport has received a total of $800,000 from the Commission to fund its obligation of the improvements at SR-69 North and Union Chapel Road, which is now in right-of-way acquisition. Other priority projects in which the Commission is actively engaged are continuing to progress under the leadership of the Cities of Northport and Tuscaloosa, Tuscaloosa County, and the Alabama Department of Transportation. The Commission plans to increase its public outreach over the next quarter through both its website and signage at Commission-funded project sites.
